Rafael is a Latinx artist-activist transplanted in New York, originally from San Francisco.

He has worked coast to coast with regional theatre and production companies as a producer, director, actor, musician and sound designer. In addition, Rafael has extensive experience in concept, writing and content creation in media and theatrical events.

He is always searching for better ways to decolonize, restructure and create.

Rafael received his BFA from Cornish College of the Arts.


He is currently the producer and creator of Seattle Shakespeare Companies’ What We May Be: Race and Education, a podcast about the history of systemic racism in Shakespeare and educational institutions, alongside the stories of community educators, students, and artists. 

His work can also currently be heard at the Harvey Milk Photo Center and de Young Legion of Honor Museums' Virtual Gallery, "Closed for Instillation".
